Jonas Sylvester is the CEO of Tourbineau Real Estate Partners. Of his quarter century in real estate and finance, Jonas spent 17 years with Unico Properties, a vertically integrated investment manager and operator where he served most recently as President and Chief Investment Officer. Unico specialized in value-add acquisitions and ground-up development in the office and residential sectors across multiple regions in the U.S. At the time of his departure from Unico, the firm had grown into a pre-eminent fund manager and developer/operator with a portfolio of approximately 15 million square feet and a well-regarded team of over 320 employees. Jonas has held leadership positions outside of Unico with American Realty Advisors (as Chief Operating Officer) and, earlier in his career, outside of real estate via finance and management roles with companies including General Electric and i2 Technologies.

Jonas is a past chair of the Urban Land Institute’s pacific northwest chapter and has been a member of the ULI Office Development Council. Jonas has also been a regular lecturer at the University of Washington through many of its graduate programs in real estate. Jonas holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Ben Wong is Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Tourbineau Real Estate Partners, where he leads investment strategy, acquisitions, and transaction structuring.

Before co-founding TREP, Ben spent 10 years at Unico Properties in acquisitions leadership roles, identifying and evaluating acquisition, joint-venture, and development opportunities for Unico’s capital programs. Earlier, he worked in acquisitions and commercial real estate debt origination at Clarion Partners and KeyBank.

Ben has more than 16 years of capital transactions experience and has completed over $2 billion in acquisition and financing transactions. He holds a B.B.A. from the University of Washington, where he is a regular guest lecturer in the real estate program.

Ryan Torzsa is Vice President of Investments at Tourbineau Real Estate Partners, responsible for identifying and evaluating acquisition and development opportunities and overseeing asset management of the portfolio.

Before joining TREP, Ryan was Associate Director in the Capital Markets and Investments group at Stoltz Real Estate Partners. He previously held capital markets and investment roles at TSB Capital Advisors and BlackRock. Over his career, he has completed more than $1.5 billion in acquisition and financing transactions across a range of asset classes.

Ryan holds a B.S. in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware, where he captained the football team.

John Sweeney is Senior Vice President of Development & Operations at Tourbineau Real Estate Partners, where he leads the firm’s national operations strategy, new development, and government relations, and manages its third-party relationships.

John began his real estate career in 2009 in leasing, then served as General Manager for The United Group in New York. He went on to hold operational leadership roles as General Manager at Park Towne Place, Regional Manager overseeing AIMCO’s Philadelphia portfolio, Director of Operations leading Stoltz Real Estate Partners’ residential division, and Managing Director at The Cordish Companies.

John lives in Nashville with his wife, Kristen, and their son, Cameron.

Matt Bass is the Senior Director of Development for Tourbineau Real Estate Partners and is responsible for development activities for the firm.

Matt began his career in real estate on the contracting side of the business before moving on to development with Hines Interests. His experience varies from entitlement for new site developments all the way through to renovating and repositioning of existing properties. His past project experience includes managing the design and construction of new construction, high-rise buildings, renovation work in existing buildings (including scope such as asbestos abatement, structural upgrades, and complete MEP system replacements) to managing work in occupied buildings. During his 30 plus year career, Matt has participated in the development of over 25 million square feet of space.

Matt and his wife, Karen live in Nashville, TN.

Joe Barrett is the Associate Vice President of Capital Markets & Investments at Tourbineau Real Estate Partners and leads capital procurement & financing of Tourbineau’s various projects. Joe also assists in the evaluation of acquisition and development opportunities and supports asset management responsibilities of the existing portfolio.

Prior to joining TREP, Joe served as a Senior Associate at TSB Capital Advisors and was responsible for structured debt and equity consultation and analysis, managing existing client relationships, and overseeing the due diligence process for clients.

Previously, Joe held positions at Shelter Growth Capital Partners on the Commercial Real Estate Financing team and at Antheus Capital on the Acquisitions, Asset Management, and Development teams. He is a graduate of Villanova University with a degree in Economics.

Jason Urdang

Devin is responsible for development activities and construction at Tourbineau Real Estate Partners.

Prior to joining TREP, Devin spent nearly a decade with ExxonMobil in New Jersey, where he held roles across operations, construction, and design within ExxonMobil’s environmental remediation and Superfund programs throughout the Northeast. Most recently, Devin served as Director of Construction at 919 Storage, a vertically integrated ground-up storage developer, where he led entitlements and design along with their in-house general contracting and site civil team.

He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Originally from Springfield, MA, Devin now lives in Wake Forest, NC, with his wife Karen and son Nathaniel.
